on what to do first when entering an ice bath:

Set a Time Limit:  1 minute ( Not experienced ) or  2 minutes ( Experienced )

Warm Up Your Body: Before entering the ice bath, do a light warm-up or some gentle exercises to increase blood flow and prepare your body for the cold.

Wear Minimal Clothing: Dress in minimal clothing, such as a swimsuit, to maximize skin exposure to the cold water.

Enter Gradually:

  • First, Feet: Start by immersing your feet and lower legs.
  • Slowly Lower: Gradually lower your body into the ice bath. Take deep breaths to help your body adjust to the cold.
  • Full Immersion: Once you are seated, try to immerse as much of your body as possible, including your torso and shoulders.

Breathe and Relax: Focus on deep, slow breathing to help manage the initial shock of the cold. Try to relax your muscles and stay calm.

Monitor Yourself: Pay attention to how your body feels. If you experience extreme discomfort, numbness, or any signs of hypothermia, exit the ice bath immediately.

After the Ice Bath:

  • Warm Up Gradually: After the ice bath, dry off and change into warm, dry clothing.
  • Rehydrate and Refuel: Drink water and have a light snack to help your body recover.
  • Stretch or Light Exercise: Engage in gentle stretching or light exercise to promote blood flow and warm up your muscles.
